working on dynamically updating track list via ahah
I'm trying to get the track listing working in the cck_mixcd module using ahah. It's getting pretty frustrating!!!

First teacher meeting today
We had our first meeting with the teacher today. Seems like we're pretty much on track. We need to keep up with the blog posts and work on decomposing our high-level system design into smaller objects and write about those objects. We also need to start building our test suite.

oops
Well, I've been trying to post at least once a week but I guess that's not enough. So here's what we've been up to:
More later...
- Writing testing document
- Researching SimpleTest API for PHP unit testing
- Researching SimpleTest Drupal module
- Working on cck_mixcd module
- Getting all members of group up and running in devel environment (LAMP/MAMP/WAMP, Drupal, Eclipse with PDT and Subclipse)
More later...

local drupal installs, subversion
I tried to help getting everyone up and running with a local install of drupal on their own systems. I set up a subversion repository with the cck_mixcd php code in it and we set up Eclipse with the PDT and Subclipse plugins to use as a devel environment. With the local drupal installs, we can test the code we write locally without having to upload to the production server every time.
We've also been working on the docs this week.

Progress
Well, we're slowly making progress on the requirements doc and system design doc. We've purchased a domain and got Drupal 6 up and running. The rest of the guys are trying to learn Drupal now.

mixCD
Our team has been coming up with some good ides for the website. We decided to build it with Drupal and we're gonna be buying a year of hosting at Dreamhost. I don't think any of the other guys have used Drupal before but I don't think they'll have any trouble learning it.
We've setup a Google group for the project and got everyone Gmail accounts so we can communicate via the Jabber protocol. I think we'll just setup a chatroom at conference.jabber.org or something and communicate that way. We also all have shared each others schedules via Google Calendar and it seems we all have conflicting schedules...

Still struggling with ideas
Well, our one page proposal is due tomorrow and I'm still not sure what I'm gonna write about. Here are some ideas that have been floating around my head: iPhoto plugins (Blogger uploader, winkflash and shutterfly uploader, etc.); CarPC frontend (touch screen interface for music, video, radio, gps, odbII, etc in a fast booting embedded Linux distro); GPS enabled SD card for cameras (does this exist yet?) for embedding gps coordinates in EXIF data on photos; some sort of educational social networking site built on Drupal or Plone (I'd like to use Plone since I'm fluent in Python and not so good with PHP); maybe some kind of online game; maybe a social networking site that lets a user post once and publishes to various other sites such as Blogger, Facebook, Wordpress, etc. Well, I'm gonna keep on thinking of ideas and hopefully come up with a decent proposal before the paper is due tomorrow!
